Stephen Gaskell, often mistaken for an "English bum" at writerly shindigs, is actually a highly educated individual with MPhys and MSc degrees in physics and artificial intelligence from University College, Oxford, and the University of Sussex, respectively. A firm believer in repaying his debt to society, he uses this colossal investment of state taxes to make videogames for Ubisoft, personally tutor overprivileged teens, and invent science-fictional universes. His work has appeared in many places including Interzone, Futurismic, and, much to the disappointment of his academic superiors, the prestigious journal Nature. He is currently working on his first novel.
