ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Genevieve Valentine is the author of Mechanique: A Tale of the Circus Tresaulti. Her short fiction has appeared or is forthcoming in Clarkesworld, Strange Horizons, Journal of Mythic Arts, Fantasy Magazine, Lightspeed, and Apex, and in the anthologies Federations, The Living Dead 2, The Way of the Wizard, Running with the Pack, Teeth, and more. This was so moving. It's still settling over me, so maybe I should wait to comment. But it really is a deep portrait of lonliness; the character of Henry is very vivd. I love how his internal calm is secretly collapsing as his former home did, and as how Earth, too, is falling apart, miles away. Everything echoes each other.
